I would like to confirm how excellent  and kind your people at Moving On have been with the my move to Edmund Hillary retirement village. Such a good idea using Moving On. Our poor old brains were whirling around trying to work everything out and your team just took over and made it all so easy for us. They worked very hard! Our apartment is in the last block and on the top floor and the last apartment on the far corner so that made everything so much harder for the movers. We even had a member of the royal family on the team – that’s how important we were considered to be. Jacky #1 and Jacky #2 and John Cleese Junior (George) were so lovely, efficient and lovable. They made me happy to throw away 90% of my possessions and I have never regretted it. Who knew I didn’t need 60 cups and saucers and 30 different saucepans? They made me understand. 

What another lovely surprise to be sent a beautiful bouquet of rosebuds and daisies which are today just opening up and looking around. We love this apartment and hope we love the lifestyle also but we have not had the energy yet to do much exploring. However, if not for your team we would not have had the energy for a couple of years!

We would have no hesitation in recommending Katie and her team if you require your property to be packed up and reinstated at another address.  We moved house after being in our old home for 36 years.  We managed to declutter most of our stuff and Katie and her team came, packed up and moved our furniture etc to our new address.  It was surprising just how quickly everything was done. On the Monday the team came and packed up the kitchen etc and then took it to the Retirement Village and set up the kitchen.  The next day the truck came for the heavy furniture and the remaining boxes and off they went.   After finishing off the cleaning of our old home approx. 1.5 hours we went to our new home to find the kitchen sorted, the lounge set up, the office set up, bed made, linen cupboard, bathroom etc sorted. What a lovely surprise. Katie explained to us just how it would all be done but seeing was believing. The residents of the village that we have met could not believe how everything looked as if we have been here forever.  It was well worth the cost (which we thought was very reasonable.) What we thought would be a very stressful time was an enjoyable one as we had a lot of laughs etc with the Katie and her team who were a pleasure to be around.  Once again a BIG THANK YOU.

We moved into Bruce McLaren on Wednesday and we are now well settled in. The move was made absolutely stress free by Katie Fitzpatrick and her team from Moving On.

From the moment I met Katie I was instantly put at ease.  I had been dreading moving house,  after the sale of my home only took 2 days.  I was given the number of Katie by my real estate agent,  who told me of the amazing service she and her team offered.  Not only do they pack your possessions they then unpack them at the other end .. and get rid of what wasn’t needed as well.  I met with Katie and she was just amazing.  Nothing was too hard and nothing phased her.  She would move me and unpack and make the beds at the new house...which I still hadn’t found.

She gave me numbers of real estate agents to try and no matter what problem came up she had the solution.  I finally found my new home , dates of the move were set...then along came Corona Virus ...everything was put on hold for a month.  Rest assured Katie and her team were there as soon as level 3 came.  They were there.  They arrived 3 amazing ladies and one amazing man.... Wow what a team.  They packed and packed even shared amazing ginger crunch....

The next day was the moving and unpacking....from start to finish they were amazing.  Beds were made and linen put away...kitchen unpacked...and homes found for the never ending plastic.

The downsizing task was overwhelming and we didn't know where to start. We decided we couldn't do it ourselves and the previous experience of moving was horrible. We engaged the Moving On team when they was operating as Lifestyle Management. I rang her to ask her if anything was different with the new name and she reassured me it was merely rebranding. I said just as well as the team that moved me from my townhouse in Green Bay to my daughter's home in Whangaparaoa were great. I am a lifetime collector of stamps and war history and was very concerned that my collections would be damaged or lost in the move. The team were very careful and respectful of the importance of my collection and even though as a result it took much longer they had a great repartee, patience and humour throughout. The Moving On team helped our family with the move of my parents, Rob & Jill Williams, in January this year, from their apartment in Remuera to an independent apartment in the Edmund Hillary Retirement Village.The move was being regarded with some trepidation by Mum and Dad as - at their not insubstantial age approaching the 90’s – such a task seemed enormous.The team were brilliant. Katie came and met with Rob & Jill to explain her and her team's services. She then assessed the move with them, letting them take her through the apartment while having her review what exactly would be required. Katie then came back with a quote for the completed job and we took it from there.The team worked diligently and efficiently packing up the apartment in its entirety, having done the necessary reduction of chattels (all the while consulting closely with Mum and Dad as to what they wanted to keep and/or dispose of), transporting the selected household goods and furniture to the retirement village and arranging for sale or removal of all redundant items.Then, most importantly of all, transforming their new apartment into the home they now have – down to the hanging of art, placement of all the furniture and putting all belongings away and in place.When Mum and Dad moved into their apartment they rang me to say how wonderful it looked, how ‘they felt right at home’ as soon as they walked in the door and couldn’t be more delighted.Katie and Moving On took all the stress and hard work away for us as a family and made the transition seamless. If you are moving house/downsizing and are now rather daunted by the task of decluttering, packing, transporting and then unpacking you need to look no further than the Moving On team; they made our move stress free.My husband and I recently moved from our family home of 18 years into an apartment. Moving On was recommended to us so we contacted them to enquire more about the service that they provides. Initially we had thought that we could do much of the packing and unpacking ourselves. We were also worried what we would do about all the extra furniture and “stuff” that we would no longer need. Katie paid us a visit and told us all that she and her team could do for us regarding our move and included contacts and strategies for all our unwanted possessions. Packing day dawned and the Moving On team of three experienced packing ladies, all with great people skills, arrived with their cartons, crates and packing materials and by mid-day we were packed. They organised the transport truck which arrived early the next morning with three keen young moving men, plus all the moving ladies in their own cars. Quite quickly all our possessions were on the way to our new apartment. The young men unpacked the truck and installed the washing machine. The moving ladies unpacked everything else in an orderly fashion, china and glasses into appropriate cupboards including our pantry, all the books beautifully arranged on the bookcases within a few hours, including making up all the beds. My husband and I then sat down and had a cup of tea and admired our new home and reflected on the slick but happy moving team and how pleased we were to have chosen “Moving On”.Thanks again, and all the best.

My wife was in care and unaccustomed as I was to make all the household decisions the Moving On team came in and did it all for me. Their friendly and efficient manner was such that all we had to do was watch as the girls packed up one day and then come back on moving day, and with their heavy lifters had the whole house moved to our new home before we had a chance to finalise our cleaning.The best part of the whole process was that when we arrived our bed had already been made, also to find everything moved to the right room, and set up in the right places was another real bonus.There is enough to do leading up to any shift, so to have the final step done so proficiently was just what we needed.We have been very happy to pass your brochures on to the staff at the Village, with a strong recommendation.If you come across a better team – please let us know. I think you’ll be looking for a long time.

Ryman Village 14.05.19As an elderly couple decided we would move from our home of 20 years in to a retirement village apartment. With plenty of storage we had to downsize considerably to suit our new apartment.This was totally new for us but luckily someone recommended Katie and her team Moving On. From then on we were helped -not told what we should keep - but what we could sell and what we could dispose of in various ways . Katie facilitated this service for us at no commission. Once a date was finalised for our shift and proceedings started we were treated with the utmost respect and compassion by Katie and her crew. From packing our possessions to relocating and unpacking in our new apartment, we have nothing but praise for the whole procedure. Hoping this will be of assistance to others. Recently my father died and we had to move my mother into a retirement village. Someone had recommended Katie from “ moving on “ and thank goodness they did. Katie went through years of momentos, furniture, linen, kitchenware and photos with mum. She helped mum de clutter until she had just her most favourite and most needed items left. Then she miraculously packed it all up , sold everything we didn’t need and moved mum into her new apartment. Thank you to the fabulous Moving On team who made my move into a retirement village so simple and smooth. Such a relief to have them on-board, especially as I  was recovering from a few weeks of illness – it made this move the easiest of four moves I’ve done in the last 10 years. I can highly recommend Katie and her team at Moving On. I was recovering from a recent stroke and had to move from my home of nearly 30 years to a place on the flat. 
From the first interview I knew I was going to be treated with care and kindness . The stress of packing was taken over by a friendly efficient team of ladies and a strong, young, enthusiastic young man. 
The move was done the following day with care and once again efficiency . Nothing was broken or went missing and even the beds were made up and things placed in cupboards . It was so wonderful to be able to find things in place without any effort on my part. Even a large dresser proved no problem to the young strong men .

​Before Christmas We had an urgent situation. My mother passed away unexpectedly and we were left worrying how to care for my father who my mother was insisting on nursing even though he had early dementia and diabetes.
My three brothers live out of NZ and I live in Queenstown. I have a full time business which makes it very tricky to leave for long periods of time. The shock of loosing my darling mother was enough to send me in to a rapid decline let alone working out how to even think about moving Dad and getting him sorted. I was recommended Katie from a friend and my brothers and I still refer to her as the "miracle". She came into our lives and put our minds instantly at ease. Fortunately, we had managed to find a suitable place for Dad that he was very happy with and one that we know Mum would have liked. Katie said our first priority was to sort Dad and ensure he was settled and happy before we thought about anything else. We thought it would be impossible so close to Christmas but Katie said she rejigged things so she and her very wonderful team could assist. It was done so seamlessly that Dad barely knew he had moved . Katie ensured all the most important memories and bits and pieces were visible and displayed in Dads new apartment so he felt instantly at home. All the family photographs were put up and Dad even cried. Everything he cared about as much as possible was around him.
She then sat us down and asked us how we wanted to move forward with the family home which is rather large in and a bach North . As time was limited with my brothers she told us to focus on photographs and documents in the properties and she would sort anything else. We have done that and Katie is clearing the rest of the properties early January. She has shown us nothing but honesty, empathy  and respect and we have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending her services. Her and her team brought their best effort and with a welcomed touch of humour. It is such an emotional time for many reasons and Katie made us feel as though Mum was once again at the helm. Thank you so much to you and your team Katie . You really are a "miracle".

Following the sudden loss of Mum and Dad having to quickly move to a retirement village we were confronted with the enormous task of clearing the family home for sale.  A task the family wasn’t well equipped to deal with given we don’t live in the same city and have busy family lives.  Katie and her team did an awesome job of taking that entire burden away from the family through 1) understanding the families wishes & 2) quickly and efficiently making it happen.   It really helped in allowing us to spend time focussing on giving Dad the support he needed during an extremely difficult time for him & us.
